FIND A LOCAL AGENT
While it’s great to have family or friends “in the business,” a local agent (and lender) is knowledgeable of the area. They can give you valuable information if they listen to your needs. Sometimes, you can even call the listing agent and have a dual agency, which can mean greater insights to the property and streamlines the whole process.
WRITE A CLEAN OFFER
If you can, avoid having a contingency. If you don’t NEED the seller to pay closing costs, leaving the request out of the offer can give you a big advantage. And if you and your agent feel the property is overall in good shape, skip the inspection so your offer moves through quicker.
